Duck Creek Bolsters Data Management Capabilities with Acquisition of Yodil

Duck Creek Technologies announces the acquisition of Yodil, a pioneer in insurance data management solutions. The agreement further cements Duck Creek’s full suite market positioning.

Yodil is best known for its insurance analytics and business intelligence expertise. The Yodil Platform offers a unique approach to the entire data management lifecycle. Using software management techniques, the Yodil Platform allows property and casualty carriers to manage all of their data with transparency and traceability, regardless of the source.

What’s notable here is that Yodil isn’t what the industry has considered standard insurer core component like claims or billing, but instead is a business intelligence and data management offering, according to Novarica vice president Jeff Goldberg. "It’s safe to say that BI and data warehousing can now be considered a core part of the insurance suite just like any other business process focused system. Insurers are increasingly budgeting more money towards the data arena, so other suite vendors will need to follow up with their own competitive BI and warehousing offerings either through development or M&A."

Together, Yodil’s software and the Duck Creek Insights’ data and analytics platform will position carriers to harness all of their data, analyze their operations, and optimize market opportunities. This combination will also provide Duck Creek customers with a full suite of structured insurance data stores, from core system to warehouse to data mart.

“The combination of Duck Creek Insights with the Yodil Platform creates the data management standard for our industry,” says Michael A. Jackowski, CEO of Duck Creek Technologies. “Yodil’s great team of data experts and software engineers share our passion to provide the best technology to our customers.”

"Yodil’s vision has been to offer a core system for data,” says Frederick Waite, CEO of Yodil. "Being part of Duck Creek realizes that vision, and will empower carriers to gain accurate insights into their business from virtually all of the data resources they employ, internal and external.”
