Glatfelter Selects Claims Software from Systema

Systema Software announces that Glatfelter Insurance Group has selected SIMS Claims to manage claims within its Accident & Sickness (A&S) Program for emergency service providers.

The majority of the claims from Glatfelter’s specialty programs are administered by Glatfelter Claims Management, Inc. (GCM), a wholly owned subsidiary.  Over the years, Glatfelter’s A&S program has experienced high customer retention and significant growth.

“We are thrilled Glatfelter has selected SIMS Claims,” says Jose Tribuzio, CEO of Systema. “Their A&S program offers coverage similar to workers’ compensation and disability, so we feel confident that our claims solution will deliver superior performance, robust claims-handling features, and the flexibility to quickly adapt to Glatfelter’s evolving business needs.”

“Our existing system is proprietary and based on older technology,” says Stephen McConaghy, senior vice president, core operations, for Glatfelter Claims Management. "We decided to proactively seek a contemporary browser-based solution with an intuitive, easy-to-use interface. In SIMS Claims, we found that modern look and feel and were impressed with the functionality, which includes document management and automated correspondence through Microsoft Word.”

The Glatfelter Claims Management staff once used multiple systems to perform these tasks, but Tribuzio points out SIMS unites these capabilities on one platform.

“Modernization with SIMS will enhance our efficiency and productivity, and enable our claims staff to focus on continuing to deliver exceptional customer service,” he says. “We believe this will give our staff greater job satisfaction, and position our company for future growth and opportunities.”

Glatfelter found SIMS to have the flexibility and scalability they needed. The system's business rules and workflow logic are easy to configure without the need to program coding changes. The system provides broad integration options, including pre-built interfaces to ISO and a Medicare compliance module, which will address common industry concerns. Glatfelter will also interface with its own internal policy administration system and existing data warehouse.

“SIMS Claims will help Glatfelter streamline policy verification, improve interaction with carrier partners, and enhance decision making by providing sophisticated data analysis and reporting capabilities that will provide Glatfelter with a unified view of policy, claims, and other data," says Brian Mack, vice president of Systema.
